(The missing reel had turned to dust in its can.) Luckily, the missing reel mostly consisted of a subplot that is barely missed. Jeanette is wonderful in a role that reminds one of her "Rose Marie" opera diva. She sings "Liebestod" and Bela Lugosi plays her manager. A real treasure! Video quality: good picture, good sound; the only nitrate damage occurs in the middle of the film, where Reginald Denny is giving a dreadful voice audition. The picture flickers and the sound disappears during that scene; otherwise the film is in good condition. A treasure; one of Jeanette's best early roles!
